A Maltipoo is a designer dog breed, a cross between a Poodle and a Maltese. This pup tends to be both energetic and affectionate and make wonderful companions. Maltipoos come in a range of sizes, weights, and colors, and usually have a soft, curly coat due to the Poodle in the mix. They require regular grooming to keep their coats and skin healthy. Maltipoos are typically very intelligent and are easily trained, making them a great option for first-time pet owners.
A Maltipoo has a unique coat that can be a variety of colors ranging from white to black, cream to apricot. Their coats are long and curly, often times wavy with both fine and thick texture with lots of fluff. Maltipoos are considered to be a hypoallergenic breed because they do not shed much and are low-dander, which tends to be a great option for a family with allergies. Grooming is important for these little cuties and brushing their coat regularly will help keep it silky and beautiful.
A Maltipoo's diet needs to be tailored to their individual needs, but generally they should be fed a high quality, nutritionally balanced kibble that's suitable for small breed dogs. If a Maltipoo is bred with a Toy Poodle, it will weigh between 4 and 6 pounds. When full grown, most Maltipoos range from 7 to 14 pounds, so it's safe to say that your puppy should fall within this range when they reach adulthood.
Maltipoos are a hybrid of Maltese and Poodle pure breeds and so therefore their character traits can differ in each animal.
