Maltipoos are a cross breed between Maltese and Poodle dogs, creating an affectionate, intelligent and low-shedding companion pet. Maltipoos weigh anywhere from 4 to 20 pounds and range in sizes from Toy to Standard. Maltipoo coats come in various colors and textures, and require frequent brushing to prevent tangles and mats. These puppies are ideal for busy households and singles, as they require minimal exercise but still love playtime. Maltipoos are very intelligent, and can be trained to do tricks or commands easily.
Maltipoos, a hybrid breed of Maltese and Poodle, tend to carry the non-shedding gene from their Poodle parent. This means their coats not only grow very soft and curly but also that they have a low-shedding coat. While Maltipoos do not shed in the traditional sense like many other breeds, some do experience a light shedding due to their constantly growing coats. Regular brushing and grooming helps keep their fur free of matting and tangles and helps to reduce the shedding.
