Maltipoos are a hybrid, cross-bred dog. They are a mix between a Maltese and a Poodle, and typically have a life expectancy of 12 13 years. Maltipoos usually weigh between 6 20 pounds, are low shedding, and come in a variety of colors and coat patterns. Training a Maltipoo is fairly easy, as they are generally eager to please. Early socialization is recommended in order to ensure the Maltipoo grows up to be well-adjusted with other pets and people.
Maltipoos are a hybrid mix of a Maltese and a Poodle, and typically they are considered a hypoallergenic breed. This means that their coat is more likely to be gentler on allergies, since they possess both the hypoallergenic qualities of the Poodle’s coat and the softer, less-shedding characteristics of the Maltese. The amount of exercise your Maltipoo needs each day will depend on their age, size, activity level, and breed. Generally, adult Maltipoos require around 60 minutes of moderate to lively activity each day, split into two or three separate walks of 20-30 minutes each. Puppies need even more exercise and should be walked for at least 90 minutes each day since they are still developing and learning. When walking your Maltipoo, be sure to stay on level ground to reduce the strain on their sensitive joints and make sure to provide plenty of breaks to help them cool off and rest.
