Here are some fun facts about these lovely dogs: they come in a variety of colors, often including white, dark brown, or black; they are very gentle and affectionate; they make excellent companion dogs; they’re a low to non-shedding breed, making them great for people with allergies; they generally have curly coats; and they can range from 5 to 20 lbs in weight.
One of the best ways to manage allergies with a Maltipoo is to reduce exposure to allergens and cleaning frequently. Grooming high-shedding Maltipoos regularly is highly recommended to help reduce allergen build-up in the home. Bathing your dog at least once every two weeks with a hypoallergenic shampoo can help keep allergen levels low too. Keeping the air clear of dust in your home is also important as dust can be a major trigger for allergy sufferers. Vacuum often and be sure to dispose of the contents immediately after vacuuming.
