A Pomsky is an emerging designer breed that is a cross between a Siberian Husky and a Pomeranian. The adorable pups look like miniature Huskies with a thick double coat, striking blue eyes and an energetic, lovable personality but can range in size from 10-30 lbs. Depending on the ratio of Husky and Pomeranian in the mix, a Pomsky can either have more of a Husky looks, with a big bushy tail, or have more of a Pomeranian look – with a shorter muzzle and ears.
Pomskies have a double coat that can range in different colors, ranging from white, gray, black, cream, apricot, and sable. Their outer coat is usually dense, soft, and thick and their undercoat is much softer and appears lighter in color. Generally, a Pomsky’s coat will require weekly brushing to keep it looking nice and prevent it from matting. They may benefit from more frequent brushing in the spring and fall when they are shedding more.
Pomskies do not have any dietary needs that are distinct from other breeds. However, it is especially important to provide them with a balanced diet of high quality, as their mixed heritage can mean that they are sensitive to certain foods.
