They are known to be an intelligent, loyal and friendly class of dog, but can also be independent, headstrong, and require firm management and training. Pomskies can be very active and are known as escape artists, so could benefit from an active lifestyle and lot of exercise. They tend to have a thick double coat and good weather tolerance, but can suffer from a number of health conditions that could result from the mixing of the two breeds.
