Pomskies are a cross between Siberian huskies and Pomeranians, creating an incredibly intelligent and attention-seeking pet. They have two distinct coat colors either an agouti or red-based color. Pomskies are typically very independent in nature, so they need boundaries and consistency with training. Additionally, Pomskies have an incredibly loud and expressive bark they are known to be quite vocal! They make great companions and are incredibly loyal to their owners. Pomskies require plenty of physical and mental stimulation, so daily walks and regular playful interaction is recommended.
Pomskies are not formally classified as hypoallergenic; however, they may have hypoallergenic properties as the parent breeds, the Pomeranian and the Siberian Husky, are both considered to be hypoallergenic breeds. The shedding of the Pomskie will vary depending on which parent the puppy takes after more; a heavier coat from the Husky parent will mean more shedding with a moderate amount of hair. Alternatively, a lighter coat from the Pomeranian parent will mean less shedding, but still a significant amount of dander to be aware of.
Pomskies are hybrid dogs that are bred from both Siberian Huskies and Pomeranians. As such, they have unique nutritional requirements. In general, they should eat high-protein, low-fat, nutrient-rich diets that include a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and complex carbohydrates. Chew toys and enrichment activities should also be a part of their daily lives to keep them physically and mentally active. Additionally, Pomskies should have access to clean drinking water throughout the day and fresh food should be available throughout the day.
