A Pomsky is an energetic, outgoing hybrid dog breed that combines the intelligence and type of a Siberian Husky with the smaller size of a Pomeranian. In an ideal world, a Pomsky should have the alert and reflective characteristics of a Husky and the friendly, affectionate, and conscientious behavior of the Pomeranian. Their long double coats are silky and plush, typically varying in colors from white to silver or black to brown, and may be striped, spotted, or solid in appearance. They are adaptable to different settings and can suit any family lifestyle.
Pomskies can shed, although their coats are usually considered to be hypoallergenic. Today's Pomskies are a result of a combination of Two Different Spitz breeds the Pomeranian & Siberian Husky meaning the amount of shedding they may have is difficult to predict. Many Pomskies show either low to minimal shedding, however, there are cases of some individuals that experience more shedding than others. Owners of these dogs can reduce the amount of shedding by providing regular brushing & coat-care.
Pomskies typically have very sensitive stomachs, and certain foods can be harmful to them. It is important to avoid feeding Pomskies foods with high sugar content, as their bodies are not designed to handle large amounts of sugar in their food. Dairy products can also be hard for a Pomsky to process, so it's best to avoid these as well. Table scraps can be harmful too, as they often contain spices, fatty oils, and other ingredients that aren't designed for a canine's diet.
