Feeding your Pomsky the right food is an important part of keeping them healthy and happy. Pomskies are generally fairly active, so they need a high-quality food that is appropriate to their age and size. For adult Pomskies, give them a food that provides all of the essential nutrients while being low in calories. Make sure to feed them two to three times daily, with snacks throughout the day. When providing treats, keep them healthy and appropriate for their size. Small treats or broken up pieces from their regular food are usually best.
Before bringing a new Pomsky into your home, it's important to make sure that you have the necessary supplies, toys, and space to accommodate the pup. Start by preparing an area in your home that can serve as the puppy's safe den, away from heavy foot traffic or potentially dangerous items. Stock up on food, treats, a collar with ID tags, a bed, and any toys or chews your pup loves. Be sure to puppy-proof your house by removing any objects that can be chewed, such as cords, plants, medications, and food items.
Pomskies, a hybrid of a Pomeranian and Siberian Husky, are a small breed of dog that can generally grow up to about 12 to 15 inches in height and 12 to 25 pounds in weight. While Pomskies are neither quite as large as a full-grown Husky or as small as a fully grown Pomeranian, they can still be quite striking. As a result, Pomskies tend to be a great fit for dog owners looking for a moderately sized pooch. They are loyal and energetic companions that will be sure to bring hours of joy for any family.
It’s important to give your Pomsky the right amount of exercise every day. An ideal amount of exercise for your Pomsky is roughly 30 minutes, broken up into two walks. Depending on your Pomsky’s age, and their level of energy, you may need to adjust the amount of walking you do with them. If your Pomsky is young and/or has a lot of energy, then you should aim to walk them around 45 minutes-1 hour each day.
Pomskies can definitely make great companions for kids! Thanks to their social personalities, small size, and fluffy appearance, Pomskies tend to be very friendly and tolerant with children. Allergies and shed-level maintenance may be important factors to consider when determining if a Pomsky is the right breed for your home. Additionally, when raised responsibly and with proper socialization and training, Pomskies can be great dogs for your family. Keep in mind though that parental supervision is always necessary and recommended when dogs and kids are together.
Pomskies are very smart dogs who need mental and physical stimulation every day to keep their minds sharp and their bodies in peak condition. The amount of minutes per day you need to train your Pomsky really depends on your specific pet and their activity level, age, and health.
