One of the most interesting things about Pomskies is their unique and distinct physical characteristics. These dogs have the most adorable features, like a husky's bright blue eyes topped with a fluffy coat of fur similar to that of a Pomeranian. Not only that, but Pomskies are quite intelligent and independent in nature. Even though they prefer physical interaction with their owners, they are content with getting comfortable on the couch for some movie time as well! Their hybrid nature makes them exceptionally delightful and great companions.
Pomskies are not technically recognized as hypoallergenic breeds of dogs due to the genetic makeup of each canine. Pomsky dogs are a combination of two breeds, Siberian Huskies and Pomeranians, which have different fur types and shedding behaviors. Each individual Pomsky may have a distinct coat and shedding profile that can cause reactions for those who are sensitive to pet dander or allergens. It is therefore recommended that any potential Pomsky owner consult with their doctor or allergist to determine if this breed would be suitable for them and any other family members that may also be affected.
