A Poodle is a highly intelligent, affectionate, and active breed of dog. They are known to specialize in obedience training, and to be particularly agile and quick learners. Poodles come in three sizes; Standard, Miniature, and Toy. The Standard Poodle stands 15 inches or more at the shoulder while the Miniature and Toy varieties are smaller in size. Poodles have an elegant, medium-length single coat and require regular grooming to keep that beautiful "muffin" appearance. They come in virtually any color and many different variations of each color.
Managing allergies with Poodles is possible, but there are a few steps you should take. Start by brushing the coat frequently to diminish shedding, as well as weekly bathing to reduce dander. Additionally, be sure to keep your Poodle's fur trimmed to reduce fur particles that can trigger allergies. It's also important to vacuum and clean the house regularly, and use an air filter to reduce allergens in the air. Finally, if possible, keep your Poodle outside or provide them with a pet-proof room that is free from allergens.
Poodles should not be fed chocolate, as it can be toxic and have serious side effects. Additionally, it’s important to avoid feeding them rawhide, small bones, entire pieces of fruit or vegetables, or large pieces of cooked meat as these can lead to choking, intestinal blockages, and other health problems.
