From competitive obedience to tricks in the circus, poodles have been used for a variety of purposes throughout modern history. But perhaps one of the most interesting qualities of Poodles is their coat. They come in a variety of colors and can have short or long hair. They are highly elusive and can even change color depending on the sunlight or the temperature. In addition, Poodle fur is highly water-resistant and helps them keep a cool body temperature in hot climates.
Poodles are often considered hypoallergenic due to their low-shedding coat and lack of dander. However, no breed of dog can be said to be completely hypoallergenic, as all breeds have the same essential proteins which can cause allergic reactions. Generally speaking, miniature Poodles usually receive the least amount of exercise, while Standard Poodles need more time. Puppies, in particular, will need to have shorter walks, while senior Poodles may prefer gentler activities like swimming or playing fetch.
