Developed in Germany in the early 19th century, the Poodle is divided into four sizes: Standard, Miniature, Toy, and Teacup. All Poodles are hypoallergenic, meaning they do not shed, making them one of the most popular family dogs. Since the 20th century, the Poodle has been an iconic breed that is seen in many aspects of popular culture.
Poodles have often been referred to as "non-shedding" because their coats are naturally curly and thick, which helps to retain shedding hair.
