Questions & Answers
When we’re talking about calm dog breeds, you might be talking about two different things. For some people, “calm” means low energy—think Pugs or French Bulldogs. For others, “calm” might mean even-tempered and obedient. For example, a well-trained Labrador Retriever could also be considered “calm.”
You have dozens of choices when it comes to lovingly lazy breeds. Some of our favorites are French Bulldogs, Pugs, Bernese Mountain Dogs, English Bulldogs, Havanese, Shih Tzus, Basset Hounds, Saint Bernards, Maltese, Maltipoos, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Cavapoos, and many, many more dog breed low energy available.
Doodles are a diverse group of Poodle hybrids, so their energy level and exercise needs will vary by breed. For example, a Labradoodle will need more exercise than a Cavapoo because a Labrador Retriever needs more exercise than a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Lower energy Doodle varieties include Cavapoos, Bernedoodles and Maltipoos for small to medium sized low energy dog breeds.
Are they ever! French Bulldogs are about as lazy as they come. In fact, their laziness is one of the selling points for these dogs. Owners love that Frenchies are content lounging around the house all day and remain happy with minimal (but regular) exercise. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, say hello to a Frechie.
Much like their fellow short-snouted friends—like French Bulldogs—Pugs have pretty low exercise requirements and make great couch companions. However, low energy doesn’t mean NO energy. Remember that no matter how lazy your puppy is, he or she will still need some exercise to stay happy and healthy.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are one of America’s lap dogs of choice, and as such, they’re known for being pretty laid back. With a noble air to them, it’s no wonder that the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel would rather hang out inside and catch some Z’s than spend all day running and playing.
Simple. We find and vet the best breeders. You pick from the best puppies. You’ll connect directly with your breeder, find out everything about your new puppy, set up travel arrangements, then sit back and relax as your new best friend flies in style to your closest major airport.
The main difference between Uptown Puppies and other puppy finder sites is that we put in tons of work screening and vetting potential breeders. When you see a breeder listed on Uptown, you can be sure that they’ve passed our strict vetting process and that they’re committed to our Breeder Pledge and No Puppy Mill Promise.
Absolutely! If you’re looking for a calm, low energy puppy, your timing couldn’t be better! Our network features dozens of litters at any given moment from some of the country’s top breeders and businesses, but act fast—it’s common for new puppies to be fully adopted within days or even hours of being listed.
With businesses and breeders located all across the nation, you might think it’d be tough to find one nearby. Not true! When you select your dream dog, your breeder can easily set up travel plans for your new puppy. The most common method of transportation is air travel to major airports in the Lower 48.
Our team vets and examines all applicants who wish to join our breeder network. Only businesses and breeders who meet our 47 standards of ethical, humane dog breeding can join. When you pick a puppy from our network, you can sleep soundly at night knowing you’ll NEVER be working with a puppy mill.
If you can’t feel confident about your puppy’s health, there’s a problem! That’s why we require everyone listed in the Uptown Puppies Network to give their pups a complete, nose-to-tail vet check before your puppy leaves the breeder. These checks are exactly what they sound like—nose to tail!
