How much you may pay for your puppy depends on the puppy you pick and the breeder you buy it from. Factors that come into play when pricing pups includes the rarity and demand of the dog’s breed, the sex of the dog, and the quality and color of its coat. You may also want to pay a little more for a breeder that has a longstanding reputation and is highly recommended. Or you may get more of a bargain price from a newer breeder, but either way, if they are listed on Uptown Puppy, they meet all of our standards for experience and care of the animals. We have a very demanding, 47 point checklist. Absolutely. If a dog breeder doesn’t have at least 18 months experience they don’t get listed. If they haven’t successfully raised at least two litters of pups, they don’t get listed. If they don’t have a formal, ongoing partnership with an attending veterinarian to look after the puppies’ health, they don’t get listed. If they don’t give the puppies daily human love and exercise, they don’t get listed. If they don’t use approved food and give the puppies constant access to clean drinking water, they don’t get listed. We get applications all the time, and accept only the best 10% or fewer of the dog breeders who apply to join our network.
