Questions & Answers
Aussiedoodles are very unique and interesting dogs! Their charming personalities and outgoing temperaments make them a great fit for any family. Additionally, their hypoallergenic coats, which are a result of being a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, make them desirable for individuals sensitive to pet dander. Furthermore, thanks to their active lifestyles, Aussiedoodles are extremely intelligent and love to play and learn new tricks. Not to mention, they make excellent watchdogs and are extremely loyal to their owners.
Aussiedoodles can be considered non-shedding or low-shedding breds, compared to other types of canines. They carry the characteristics of two breeds, the Australian Shepherd and Poodle, which have coats that repel shedding naturally. These dogs often have very dense, wavy fur that requires grooming to maintain and control the shedding. This breed also painstakingly experiences seasonal shedding. They require regular brushing and grooming, such as baths, nail trimming and ear cleaning, to help keep shedding under control.
Aussiedoodles are generally known to be fairly robust, but it's important to be mindful of the types of food you feed them to avoid potential health risks related to their diet. You should avoid foods that contain too many fillers, preservatives, or chemicals, as well as low-quality ingredients such as by-products or artificial sweeteners. Unfamiliar foods can also cause gastrointestinal upset in Aussiedoodles, so steer clear of foods with unfamiliar ingredients or sources.
Your new Aussiedoodle will need a safe, comfortable home to thrive. To prepare, start by creating a designated space for them with comfortable bedding. Be sure to puppy-proof any areas they may be able to access to avoid any potential hazards. Invest in appropriate toys and supplies such as leashes, food bowls, and a collar. Familiarize yourself with their breed characteristics in order to best meet their needs, and consider enrolling in obedience classes to ensure proper upbringing. You may also want to research dietary guidelines in order to provide a balanced, nutrient-rich diet.
Aussiedoodles typically come in three different sizes, including miniature, medium, and standard. The size of any particular Aussiedoodle will depend on the size of its parents. If two miniature Australian Shepherds are bred together, then the resulting puppies will generally be miniature Aussiedoodles. If a mini and a standard Aussie are bred, then medium-sized puppies would normally be produced. Breeding two standard Australian Shepherds, on the other hand, would typically produce a litter of standard-sized Aussiedoodles.
Aussiedoodles absolutely love to swim! They are known for having a lot of energy and often live an active lifestyle. Swimming is a great way for them to get exercise and even take a dip on hot days. The water is also a great place for them to explore and have fun. Owners often report that the Aussiedoodle has an enjoyable time while swimming and is content when they get out of the water. Swimming also helps this breed to burn off their extra energy and maintain a healthy weight.
Aussiedoodles are excellent family dogs that provide a great deal of love and affection. They are highly intelligent, making them relatively easy to train and their gentle, playful personalities make them an ideal companion for people of all ages. Aussiedoodles love being around people and prefer to be in a family environment. They also have a reputation for being good-natured, loyal, and easygoing, which makes them great for households with both children and pets.
The amount of minutes per day recommended to train Aussiedoodles varies and depends on a variety of factors, including the age and energy level of the dog, the type of training and the end goals of the training. Generally speaking, when starting basic obedience training, a minimum of 15-20 minutes per day is all that is required. It is important to remember, however, that puppy training sessions should be fun and interesting and not overly tiring. As they get older and begin to focus better, the duration of the sessions can be gradually increased to 30-45 minutes at a time.
