Aussiedoodles are an increasingly popular hybrid dog breed that crosses an Australian Shepherd with a Standard or Miniature Poodle. Despite this unique mix, Aussiedoodles are recognized as a hybrid, designer dog breed and do not have a specific classification within traditional breed groups such as Gundogs and Terriers. They are generally medium-to-large scale dogs that can range from 16-23 inches tall and between 30-50 pounds in weight. They typically have a combination of intelligence, trainability, agility, and loyalty that it inherited from both sides of the parent breeds.
Aussiedoodles are considered to be somewhat hypoallergenic. This is because they are a hybrid, being the result of a mix of an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, with either a Toy or Miniature being used as the Poodle parent. The Poodle parent contributes the hypoallergenic coat and makes the Aussiedoodle a low-shed coat breed. Aussiedoodles may be less likely to trigger allergies but it is not a guarantee.
