Talk to your vet and obtain any necessary vaccinations ahead of time.
Bernedoodles can range in size, depending on the size of the parent breeds. A Bernedoodle can be a standard, medium, or miniature size. An estimate of the adult size can usually be determined by knowing the size of the parent breeds. If you know the size of the parents, keep in mind that the Bernedoodle puppies will usually grow to be between the two sizes. On average, a Bernedoodle can weigh between 25 and 70 pounds, and stand as tall as 26-29 inches.
Bernedoodles are not known to be overly active dogs, but they do require moderate amounts of daily exercise just like any other breed. They make an excellent choice for owners who have a busy lifestyle because they are happy with short walks or playtime that doesn't require a lot of intensity. They need some physical activity each day, so that they don't become bored or lack the exercise their bodies need. When given the right amount of mental and physical stimulation, these dogs can make wonderful companions and are quite loveable and loyal.
Bernedoodles are known to be excellent family and companion dogs, and they typically get along very well with kids of all ages. They are patient, gentle, and loving, making them a great option for homes with kids. Bernedoodles can be great playmates and can learn lot of tricks that children find endlessly entertaining. Training Bernedoodles depends largely on the age of the dog and the type of behaviors you are looking to instill in them. If the Bernedoodle is a puppy, aim for 10-15 minutes of training per day, broken up into several 5-10 minute sessions. This ensures they are not overstimulated. For adult Bernedoodles, keep the length of the session shorter, around 5 minutes a day, and aim for several 1-2 minute mini-sessions throughout the day, focused on specific behaviors.
