Bernedoodles are a unique hybrid breed of dog. Developed by crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog with a Poodle, this dog is known for its intelligence, playful spirit, and its loyalty to its family. This medium-sized dog has a thick wavy or curly coat that typically ranges from a lighter to darker shade of brown. Its coat may also feature other colors such as white or black. Bernedoodles do not shed a lot and are considered relatively easy to groom, making them ideal for people with allergies.
Bernedoodles can have different levels of hypoallergenic qualities, depending on which parent breed they are derived from. As many Bernedoodles are bred from a Bernese Mountain Dog and some type of Poodle (i.e. Standard, Miniature, or Toy), they often inherit the Poodle's hypoallergenic coat. If a Bernedoodle has a coat from a Poodle parent, then it is likely to have some form of hypoallergenic qualities.

They do not handle being left alone for long periods of time well and can become destructive and unruly if not provided with enough stimulation. Bernedoodles can come in a variety of sizes, depending on parentage. The smallest size can be Miniature, typically reaching heights of 14-17 inches and weights of 25-49 pounds. The most popular, and next size up, is the Standard Bernedoodle. Usually, Standard Bernedoodles reach heights of 18-23 inches and can weigh anywhere from 50-90 pounds. Lastly, the largest size is the Giant Bernedoodle, which can range from 24-29 inches tall and weigh as much as over 100 pounds.
