Bernedoodles are a hybrid cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. They are classified as an 'Designer' or 'Hybrid' breed, not belonging to any specific breed of dog. Bernedoodles are a relatively newer breed and have become incredibly popular in recent years due to their cute and cuddly looks. Bernedoodles are generally extremely friendly and laid-back, making them the perfect family pet.
The Bernedoodle coat is truly unique. Depending on which of the three Bernedoodle varieties you have, their coats can range from thin and wiry to thick and shaggy. Poodles, one of the Bernedoodle's parents, are known for their thick curly locks, while Bernese Mountain Dogs, the other parent breed, provide a thick, long-haired coat. Depending on the type of Bernedoodle, the coat can be straight or wavy.
Bernedoodles are considered to be an incredibly intelligent and loving breed, however it's important to know what not to feed them in order to keep them healthy. A balanced diet, high in proteins and healthy grains, should be key.
