Bernedoodles are a crossbred combination of a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. They are intelligent, loyal and friendly dogs, often sporting unique blue, black and white coats. They generally require a moderate level of exercise, making them suitable for both active lifestyles and smaller homes. They do require moderate grooming, however, and they are prone to matting and tangling, especially if their coats are not clipped regularly. Additionally, they shed very little, making them ideal for people with allergies.
Bernedoodles can be a hypoallergenic option for some people, but it's important to note that there is no guarantee that you will not have an allergic reaction. Bernedoodles are a mixed breed that is typically created through crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog with either a Standard Poodle or a Miniature Poodle, which both have hypoallergenic coats.
Bernedoodles require a balanced and nutritious diet. The diet should consist of high-quality foods that are rich in protein, complex carbohydrates, and omega-3 fatty acids to ensure the health and longevity of your Bernedoodle. Depending on their size, they should get 2-3 cups of dry, high-protein kibble daily with one or two meals per day. Bernedoodles enjoy being in the water and most of them will happily take a dip in a pool, lake or any other type of body of water. You may find that your Bernedoodle loves to swim even more than rope-pulling, tug-of-war, or any other activities they may do.
