They often have the intelligence of a poodle with the laid-back manner and extraordinary patience of a Bernese Mountain dog, making them a delight to own in a family environment.
The Bernedoodle coat is usually a combination of a Poodle's curly coat and a Bernese Mountain Dog's wavy coat. Often times, the coat will be very thick and wavy, making it ideal for cold or wet weather. Depending on the individual Bernedoodle's genetics, the coat may be more of one or the other or somewhere in between. Generally, the coat is highly dense, soft to the touch, and low-shedding. Owners are able to choose between clipping or not clipping the fur, as it all depends on personal preference.
