Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is an affectionate, playful, and gentle breed that loves to be around their families. They are intelligent, alert dogs that love to learn and will do almost anything for a treat. They are active and enjoy playing and running around, and they also relish cuddles and tummy rubs. As a result, they are great family dogs and particularly enjoy being around children. Cavaliers do need regular grooming and brushing, and they can live up to 12-15 years with a healthy diet and exercise.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are not known to be non-shedding dogs. They are a moderate-shedding breed, with shedding occurring year-round and heavier bursts of shedding throughout the year. While they do not shed as much as some other breeds, they do shed, and regular brushing is necessary to help keep their coats healthy and free of mats.
When it comes to feeding your Cavalier King Charles, the best option is generally a high-quality, well-balanced diet that meets the specific nutritional needs of your particular breed. For adult dogs, a dry diet specifically formulated for a small breed is your best bet. Also, be sure to calculate the proper serving size for your pup based on its weight, energy level, and activity level.
