A Cavapoo is a crossbreed developed by merging a Poodle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. These friendly, active, and loving dogs are often referred to as designer dogs. Cavapoos are prized for their low-shed coats and seem to easily adapt to their owners’ lifestyles. Cavapoos typically weigh between 8-20 lbs. and stand at about 12-15” in height. Personality-wise, Cavapoos are known for being very sweet-natured, affectionate, and eager-to-please.
Cavapoos are often considered hypoallergenic because they are bred from a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, both of which are known for their low-shedding coats. While there is no guarantee that a Cavapoo will not trigger an allergic reaction, they do have a much lower chance of doing so than other breeds. This is due to the fact that hypoallergenic breeds naturally produce fewer allergens than their non-hypoallergenic counterparts.
Cavapoos are considered by many to be small, active, and very loyal companions, and proper nutrition is key to promoting their growth and health. You should always consult with your veterinarian to find out what food is best for your Cavapoo based on their age, activity level and other factors.
