Cockapoos are considered a designer breed, primarily a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. Did you know they don't shed much, making them a great choice for those with allergies? In addition, Cockapoos are loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving! They also have special needs in terms of grooming, as their coats require regular brushing and trimmings. On the plus side, this means less shedding and Cockapoos tend to smell better than other breeds.
Managing allergies with Cockapoos can be done in several ways. To reduce the chance of an allergic reaction, it is important to maintain the cleanliness of living spaces shared by the dog. Vacuum regularly and frequently and make sure to completely remove pet fur and dander. Additionally, it is a good idea to provide regular baths to the dog to keep skin and fur healthy and prevent long-term buildup of allergens. Further, dried dog food is far less likely to contain dust than dry food, and wet food might be even better.
Cockapoos should not be fed any kind of human food containing gluten, artificial additives, or processed sugars, as these can be harmful to their sensitive digestive systems. The smallest sizes can weigh as little as 6 pounds and typically come from a Toy Poodle parent, while the larger sizes can weigh up to 40 pounds and typically come from a Standard Poodle parent. The average size range of a Cockapoo is generally between 10 and 20 pounds. It is important to note that some Cockapoos may not stay within these size ranges and may either be smaller or larger than typical.
An ideal amount of exercise for a Cockapoo is 30 minutes of walking and/or physical activity per day. You can adjust the amount of exercise to suit your pup’s age, breed, and energy level. For instance, if your pup is younger or more energetic, you may want to aim for more than 30 minutes of exercise each day. If your Cockapoo is older or of a less active breed, you may want to aim for half the amount of time (i.e. no more than 15 minutes of exercise a day).
