Goldendoodles are a hybrid dog breed that is a mix of a Standard Poodle and a Golden Retriever. Though Goldendoodles have only been around since the 1990s, they have become increasingly popular as family pets in recent years because they are loyal, intelligent, and gentle. They come in a variety of coat colors and sizes,ranging from mini Goldendoodles that weigh less than 25 pounds, to giant Goldendoodles that can be over 100 pounds.
The Goldendoodle coat is truly unique! It typically has a combination of traits inherited from both of its parent breeds, the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. Goldendoodle coats come in a variety of colors and can be either wavy or curly. The most common coat texture is either wavy or curly, but occasionally there are Goldendoodles that have almost straight coats. Additionally, Goldendoodles tend to shed minimally, making them great for people with allergies.
Goldendoodles typically require a balanced diet that is designed specifically for their unique genetic makeup. Similarly to other breeds, Goldendoodles typically need a diet that contains sufficient protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and hydration. High-quality, nutritious food is important for all dogs, however, Goldendoodles may vary in size, which sometimes requires a custom diet tailored to their specific needs. Goldendoodles can range in size from miniature and toy to small, medium, and large.
