They are one of the most popular breeds in the United States, known for their family-friendly and joyful personalities. Labrador Retrievers, derived from the Labrador Province in Canada, have an eagerness to please and natural retrieving abilities. They come in three colors: black, yellow, and chocolate and can weigh between 55 and 80 pounds. These dogs love playing and exercise making them great family companions.
Labrador Retrievers are not considered to be hypoallergenic due to their short coats, which shed more regularly than breeds with thicker coats. Genetics also play a role in whether or not a breed is hypoallergenic. For instance, some Labradors may have a lower level of shedding than other Labs.
