One fun fact about them is that they come in three recognized colors: black, yellow, and chocolate. They were originally bred as a working dog, and can be used in different disciplines such as search and rescue, competitive obedience, and therapy work. A second fun fact is that they have very short coats that require minimal maintenance. Even more remarkable, Labradors can have incredibly powerful long-distance swimming capabilities, making them great swimmers for all ages if trained properly.
Labrador Retrievers are not considered hypoallergenic and are known contributors to pet related allergies. They shed fur and dander more than some other breeds, which may trigger allergic reactions in people who are allergic to pets.
