It is one of the most popular breeds in the United States and is known for its intelligence, activity level, sociability, and willingness to please its masters. With a short, dense coat that can come in black, yellow, or chocolate varieties, this breed is known to be a quintessential family pet. The water-resistant coat, webbed feet, and muscular build of Labrador Retrievers make them excellent swimmers and retrievers.
Labrador Retrievers are not non-shedding. Some Labs may shed a little, but the extent of shedding is unpredictable and varies significantly between individuals. The breed is characterized as “medium-shedding”, meaning they lose a moderate amount of coat throughout the year.
