One fun fact is that Labradors are the most popular breed in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. They were originally bred in Newfoundland, Canada, to help fishermen with retrieving fish from the icy waters and have come a long way since then. Labs are known for their webbed toes, which make them exceptional swimmers. They also have a very thick fur which makes them a great choice for colder climates.
Labrador Retrievers typically have a short, single layer coat that is smooth to the touch. Their coats come in three colors, chocolate, black and yellow.
