Maltipoos are a hybrid dog breed created by crossing a Maltese and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. They are a small to medium-sized breed, generally weighing between 5-20 pounds. They have a long, single coat of fur which can range from light tan to white and varies from curly to silky in texture, depending on the individual dog. They are high-energy and fun-loving, and make excellent companion dogs due to their affectionate and loyal natures.
It is important to note that Maltipoos are not hypoallergenic or allergy-proof. Therefore, if you or someone in your household suffers from allergies, it is possible that a Maltipoo may trigger them. However, that being said, every individual's response to allergens is unique and there is no concrete answer. It is highly recommended that anyone considering adopting a Maltipoo should be evaluated on an individual basis to establish whether or not the particular breed of dog would be a suitable fit for them and their home.
Maltipoos should not be given products containing xylitol, as this is highly toxic to canines; other human food that should never be given to Maltipoos include onions, garlic, grapes, avocados, coffee, macadamia nuts, and chocolate.
