The cross between the Toy or Miniature Poodle and Maltese is an increasingly popular breed due to their intelligence, sociability, and low shedding coats. Maltipoos come in many colors and sizes, ranging from 4-15 pounds. They make an excellent pet for families with allergies, because of their hypoallergenic coats, but they require daily brushing and need to be groomed regularly. Maltipoos also have an energetic, fun-loving personality, and they love spending lots of time with their owners.
While Maltipoos are not a true hypoallergenic breed, they do usually produce much less dander than other breeds, making them a good option for people who have mild to moderate allergies. Maltipoos have coats that do not shed, which prevents the release of irritants common in other breeds with hair.
