Maltipoos are a hybrid/designer breed of dog created by crossing a Maltese and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. These cuddly canines have become increasingly popular in recent years, due in part to their affectionate nature and low-shedding coats. In terms of size, Maltipoos can range from about four to fifteen pounds, depending on the parents used in the breeding combination. Their coats come in a variety of colors, from apricot and sable to pure white or black, with various markings in between.
The beloved Maltipoo has a unique and attractive coat which is usually a combination of straight and wavy fur. Depending on their lineage, their coat can be short and silky, long and wavy, or somewhere in between. Most Maltipoos have fur that is much softer than regular poodles and may also have a slight sheen when well groomed. The colors vary, and range from traditional white to black, grey, red, and even brown resulting in a wide variety of beautiful coat patterns.
