With the wish to produce an intelligent, hypoallergenic, friendly dog, bloodlines from English and American Cocker Spaniels, Wheaten Terriers, Curly-Coated Retrievers, Irish Water Spaniels were included in the mix--resulting into what is now called the Australian Labradoodle.
