They easily adapt to most lifestyles, can either have a short or long coat, and are known for being low-to-non-shedding which makes them a great choice for indoor living. Additionally, they can come in a variety of colors, from blond to black and even apricot. Labradoodles are extremely smart and loving, so not only are they a great addition to families, but they are also often used as therapy and service animals.
Labradoodles are not a purebred breed, but are instead a mixed breed that has two primary parent breeds – the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle. While that may make them appear as though they could be hypoallergenic, they are not because the genetics of the original parent breeds can vary dramatically. Labradoodles can have a wavy, curly, or straight coat, and that can cause the dander levels to vary from one individual dog to the next.
Labradoodles are intelligent and active dogs that require a healthy, balanced diet to stay fit and healthy. Feeding your Labradoodle depends on its age, activity level, health status, and size. Generally, an adult Labradoodle should be fed twice a day, ideally with high-quality dry kibble that's formulated specifically for large breeds.
