Labradoodles are truly unique dogs. They possess some of the traits of both their Labrador Retriever parent breeds and their Poodle parent breeds, making them the ideal hybrid mix in many respects. Perhaps the most interesting thing about Labradoodles is that their personalities extend beyond just their physical and behavioral traits, and they are actually quite playful and full of energy. While they inherited some of the intelligence of their Labrador Retriever parents, they can also be quite instinctive and gentle, like their Poodle counterparts.
Every individual has their own individual allergies and sensitivities, and whether Labradoodles will cause you to have allergies is ultimately a decision best made by consulting with your primary healthcare provider. In some cases, Labradoodles have been reported to cause allergies because of their coat, but it is usually less severe than other breeds due to the low-shedding qualities of their fur. Generally, because they do not shed as much as other breeds, there is a lower likelihood of allergen exposure that could trigger an allergic reaction.
