Labradoodles are hybrid dogs that are created by crossing Labrador Retrievers and Poodles. They are a popular designer breed because of their intelligence, loving nature, and the fact that they are hypoallergenic in some cases due to the Poodle lineage. Since they are a mix of two existing breeds, they are not their own class of dog, but they are recognized as a designer breed by the American Kennel Club and the International Designer Canine Registry, among others.
The Labradoodle coat can vary greatly depending on the lineage of the pup. Generally speaking, many Labradoodles have a soft, wavy coat with loose curls and a non-shedding feature. You may find that the coat color is unique from pup to pup. Labradoodles typically include a mixture of shades, most often combining black, apricot, cream, tan, brown, or red. If cared for properly, the Labradoodle's coat will stay in good condition and not require excess maintenance.
Labradoodles, like any dog breed, should not be given foods that contain sugar, chocolate, processed meats, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, or xylitol. These can be dangerous to any canine's health. In general, Labradoodles should be given nutritious food that is high in fiber and low in fat.

Make sure your pup is eating a balanced diet specifically tailored to their breed, size, and age. Exercise is essential to maintain your Labradoodle's mental and physical wellbeing. Labradoodles are a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle, and their size can vary depending on the size of the parent breeds. Labradoodles have a moderate-to-high activity level by nature. Depending on their individual personalities, they will need a minimum of one hour of physical exercise and mental stimulation daily. For those Labradoodles with high activity levels, they may require several hours of daily exercise to remain healthy as well as to avoid becoming bored and destructive. Daily activities such as agility courses, fetch, walking, swimming, jogging, and hiking are a great way to keep them in shape and mentally stimulated.
Labradoodles, affectionately known as Labrador-Poodle hybrids, typically get along very well with other pets.Bearing the intelligence, energy levels, and loving personality, Labradoodles are generally excellent with socialization and have little difficulty adapting to new animals. There's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question as the amount of training required for Labradoodles will vary greatly from one individual to the next.
