Labradoodles are known for their intelligence, playfulness, and loyalty. Besides these wonderful characteristics, here are some fun facts about them: they were originally bred in Australia in 1989 as a hypoallergenic guide dog; they are one of the most popular of the hybrid breeds; they usually weigh anywhere from 15 to 30 pounds and can vary in coat length; they range in color from brown, black, chocolate, cream, red and even parti-colored; and they can live anywhere from 12-15 years.
Labradoodles are sometimes considered hypoallergenic, but there is no guarantee that they will not trigger allergies. Generally, Labradoodles are much less likely to cause allergies than other types of dogs because of their low-shedding coat and reduced dander production. However, this varies greatly with individual Labradoodle lines and does not substitute for a professional allergy test. Allergic reactions may also develop over time, as your body adjusts to the presence of a pet.
Labradoodles can have slightly different dietary needs than other breeds, particularly if they are prone to allergies or other food sensitivities. If yours is, it's a good idea to talk to your vet about specially formulated food or other dietary needs. In general, the most important thing is to feed your pooch a balanced diet of wholesome, nutritious ingredients that includes protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, and minerals. Preparing your home for a new Labradoodle is an important step in the ownership process. Making sure to puppy-proof your home is very important, as Labradoodles are curious and energetic dogs that can easily get into trouble! Labradoodles come in a variety of sizes that often depend on their parent breeds. Standard Labradoodles are the tallest and can reach heights of 24 inches, while miniature Labradoodles top out at 15 inches or less. Medium Labradoodles, sometimes called Moyen Labradoodles, generally fall in between the two. Other alternatives include the petite Labradoodle, sometimes marketed as a toysized Labradoodle, and the giant Labradoodle, which typically stands at least 25 inches high.
The amount of time you should walk your Labradoodle depends largely on age and activity level. Generally, young Labradoodles need a minimum of 30 minutes per day while adult Labradoodles should receive a minimum of 60 minutes per day. Keep in mind, if your Labradoodle is especially active, it may need more time and more frequent short walks. You can also vary the length of walks to keep it interesting for your pup. Additionally, it's important to provide your Labradoodle with mental stimulation throughout the day to ensure that it is happy and satisfied.

Labradoodles can make great playmates for kids. They are generally well mannered and affectionate, so you can expect them to love being around children. When properly socialized and trained, they can make great, loyal companions for kids of all ages. This makes them an ideal breed for families with children.
The amount of training minutes required for a Labradoodle per day will vary depending on the age and temperament of the specific dog. A puppy who is being trained for the first time will require more frequent and longer training sessions than an adult dog who is experienced with basic commands. Generally speaking, it's recommended to have at least three 10-minute training sessions per day.
