Labradoodles are a designer hybrid breed that have been developed in recent decades by crossing a Labrador Retriever with a Standard or Miniature Poodle. Generally, these crosses combine the intelligence and trainability of the Labrador Retriever with the allergy-friendly coat and low-shedding attributes of the Poodle. Labradoodles are highly intelligent, intuitive, and active dogs that love to please and are a great family companion. As a crossbreed, their size will vary depending on the size of their parents and can range from small to large.
Labradoodles are not considered to be a completely hypoallergenic breed; however, many Labradoodles are very low-shedding breeds, making them easier to manage for allergic pet owners. Allergy levels vary from individual to individual, so people who are wary of allergies should speak to their doctor and do their research before deciding whether a Labradoodle is a good fit for their household. Furthermore, Labradoodles have a very low-dander coat, which can help to decrease allergic reactions in people who are sensitive to pet fur.
Labradoodles should not be given chocolate or alcohol, as those contain ingredients that are dangerous for them. Additionally, they should not consume large bones, which could choke them or splinter and cause internal damage. They should also avoid processed foods that have high amounts of fat, artificial additives, artificial sweeteners, and preservatives. Rawhide is also not a good option for Labradoodles, as it can cause them to choke.

Labradoodles come in a variety of sizes. The size of a Labradoodle depends on its generation and the types of Poodle and Labrador Retriever used. The smallest Labradoodle size is a Toy Labradoodle, which usually weighs between 10 and 16 pounds. The next size is the Miniature Labradoodle, which typically weighs between 17 and 25 pounds. Medium Labradoodles usually range between 26 and 45 pounds, while Standard Labradoodles are usually 46 to 70 pounds.
It is generally recommended to walk a Labradoodle for at least 30 minutes per day. This should include both physical exercise and mental stimulation to ensure that your pet is both physically and mentally healthy. If your Labradoodle is particularly active, you may want to extend the walk time to over 30 minutes. For optimal wellness, try to walk your Labradoodle for no less than 20 minutes and no more than an hour per day. Depending on your schedule, you may need to break up the walk into two or more shorter periods to ensure your dog gets sufficient activity.
