A Labradoodle is a hybrid breed of dog resulting from the cross-breeding of a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. Labradoodles are bred for their intelligence, sociability, and hypoallergenic properties. Labradoodles are known for their playful and adorable personalities. They mature to become gentle, loyal, and loving companion dogs that are suited to both active and calm lifestyles. The Labradoodle is a great family pet as they are adaptable, tolerant of children, and can also be excellent guard dogs.
Labradoodles have a unique coat that is a cross between a Labrador Retriever's and a Poodle's. Depending on the size of the parent breeds and the amount of each breed in the cross, Labradoodles can have coats that range from short and straight to long and curly. Standard size Labradoodles typically weigh more than 35 pounds, and they can reach full grown heights of up to 23 inches.
Labradoodles are an energetic breed of dog and need plenty of physical exercise to stay healthy and content. Generally, an adult Labradoodle should have about 60 minutes of exercise split into two to three walks per day. Ideally, the walks should be 10-15 minutes in length, and you should also incorporate some type of exercise designed to use the dog's natural abilities such as running or fetch. If you only have 30 minutes a day for your Labradoodle's exercise, then three 10 minute walks would be the most beneficial.
Labradoodles are typically known for their easy-going and friendly nature which means they can usually get along with other pets quite well. While they may need some time to acquaint themselves with the new home and the other pets, most Labradoodles will quickly learn to socialize and be relaxed with different animals in no time.
