Labradoodles are a hybrid breed created by crossing a Labrador Retriever with a Standard, Miniature or Toy Poodle. In terms of size and weight, Labradoodles come in three varieties Standard (21 24 inches in height and weigh anywhere from 40 70 lbs), Miniature (14 16 inches in height and weigh approximately 10 25 lbs), and Toy (up to 12 inches in height and weight anywhere from 4 10 lbs). They come in a variety of coat types including hair, wool and fleece.
While Labradoodles are a much-loved hybrid breed because of their intelligence and loyalty, they are actually not considered to be a "non-shedding breed". They can be considered "low-shedding" because their shedding is not as intense as other breeds but, in general, these dogs do shed and need regular grooming and daily brushing to maintain their coat. Labradoodles tend to sport a single-layer coat, which usually needs to be clipped or trimmed every 6-12 weeks.
