Labradoodles are a unique breed of dog, usually a cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Standard, Miniature or Toy Poodle. These designer dogs are known for their intelligence, friendliness, loyalty and various colors and coat types ranging from straight to curly. Depending on its genetics, a Labradoodle can either become slightly more Lab-like, or its Poodle traits will become more dominant. Ultimately, the majority of Labradoodles tend to exhibit a combination of Lab and Poodle traits.
Labradoodles are a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Standard or Miniature Poodle, resulting in a somewhat hypoallergenic breed of dog. However, even though Labradoodles are considered to have a non-shedding coat, they are not completely allergy-free. Everyone's allergies react differently, and Labradoodles may still cause some allergy sufferers to have reactions. Some people are more susceptible to dog fur and dander, so it is best for them to choose a breed that is recommended for their level of immunity.
It is important to provide your Labradoodle with a nutritionally balanced diet in order to ensure optimal health and energy. A diet consisting of high quality adult dry food formulated specifically for Labradoodles, combined with healthy snacks such as fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, and lean proteins, is ideal for providing your Labradoodle with the required nutrients and energy. Labradoodles have some special requirements due to their two different parent breeds.
