Labradoodles are a hybrid dog breed created by crossing Labrador Retrievers with Poodles. They are known for being loving, obedient, and exceptionally intelligent. Labradoodles make excellent family pets, as they are gentle and affectionate with children and make attentive guard dogs when necessary. These dogs do not shed much and their coats require more frequent brushing than many other pure-breed dogs. Labradoodles are also very active dogs and need plenty of physical and mental stimulation, including going for walks and playing games.
Labradoodles have a mesmerizingly soft, plush coat that comes in a range of colors ranging from brown to golden to white and is composed of either wavy or curly hair. Depending on the litter of Labradoodle, the coats can vary, as some may have shorter, more wavy fur while others may have curlier, longer fur. Though all Labradoodles are low-shedding and hypoallergenic, the type of coat they have will determine how much maintenance will be required.
The diet of Labradoodles should not include chocolate, grapes, onions, macadamia nuts, or raisins. Generally, Labradoodles need at least an hour of outdoor activity per day, split between a walk and playing. If you are able to take your Labradoodle out twice a day—for example, a 30-minute walk in the morning and another 30-minute walk in the evening—that will help to keep your Labradoodle healthy and active.
